Making it through the weekend

Well I survived Black Friday shopping! Spent way to much money. 90% done with my Christmas list. Everything is wrapped and under the tree :) Christmas cards were mailed today. All but about 5. and I still need another box I think.

Painted last night. Here is the outcome. It's getting harder to sell them but I'm trying. I

stopped at the local antique store and checked about renting a booth. More than my budget will allow. Also stopped at the coffee shop and asked them about showing my work there.

I have a scrap page I am working on so need to get that done today.

starting to get lonely around here with everyone gone. The boys haven't killed anything else and will be coming home tomorrow. Then back to a regular full work week.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving Eve didn't go very well at all so today I was VERY Thankful that each of my loved ones were here with me. We had a wonderful lunch and then the boys packed up for a 4 day hunting trip. That left me alone and lots of time to decorate the house. So I got my tree(s) up. This year I decorated our family tree a little different and did just blue, white and silver. I do love it. I went and hit the Michaels Door Buster sales and bought a 4 1/2 ft entry door tree and decorated it with all the kids home made ornaments. I just couldn't not pull them out this year. I have had them on trees for 19 years now. Got my Jeff Gordon tree up and some lights outside.
Now to just hit some sales tomorrow and get some presents under this tree.

I did some painting too. I got this one finished this morning and I am working on a very BRIGHT abstract right now. Waiting on the paint to dry.
I'm going to have a one day Black Friday sale on my website if your intersted. Just check out Art from the Heart and anything that has not already been sold will be $10.00 off. Can't beat that if your looking for a one of a kind gift for someone this holiday season. Just give me a buzz if you like something. I will even ship it to you if I need too. shipping will be 1/2 off also.
It's pretty quiet around here and only 9 pm. I think I will fix some hot tea and curl up with a book for a while.

Love it. It is always so much fun. Just have a few people left of my list and then I can start wrapping and getting the tree up. I may do the tree on Thursday. We will see.

Going to be a fun evening

Today will be a fun day.

We are leaving work (some of us girls) and heading out for lunch, then getting our nails done then heading to the 4:15 showing of New Moon. After that we head over to Paradise for some yummy dinner. Now that is what I call a great afternoon!

the only problem is not getting to see the boys and tell them bye...they are leaving for another hunting trip this weekend.

Here are a few paintings I did Wednesday night. One was for a shower gift. The other I am waiting to see if they like it and want to buy it. If not I will put it up for sale.
Got a busy weekend for crafts. I HAVE to finish my quilt and then get started on my layouts for the December reveal at Scrap-Tastic. So there want be any goofing off this weekend. Nope...got work to do =) Fun, creative work!
alright...off to head to work and see you this evening...

Advent Calendar and more

Here's a few shots of the advent calendar I worked on most of yesterday. The lighting was not all that great but you get the idea right? I think it turned out pretty cute. I used all Basic Grey paper. The middle picture is the finished product with the added snow on the bottom. I have a lady at work that might be interested in buying it so that is cool!
I am about knee deep in projects right now. I love it though. I have a quilt that I have to finish sewing together. It is the last of the homemade Christmas gifts. and then I just got my december kit for Scrap-tastic...OMG it is yummy! So I want to play in that. And just a few layouts I would like to get done to jump ahead of deadlines.
I got an email from Scrapbook and Beyond today for a layout...WOOOHOOO! I was really excited about that. I needed the boost. It will be a summer layout I have that will go in next years summer issue. Now to dig through my albums and find it...lol.
On a sad note...a young boy, 21, was killed down the road from my house in a one vehicle accident this morning. He was on his way into work and had just called his friend and told him that he was heading to work. I heard the sirens at about 5:45. I left not to long after that and saw the scene. I didn't see the actual accident because it was a little bit past the red light I was at but there was a lot of cars on the scene. It appears he hit a tree. We saw the tree on the way home and it was not a small tree and took a chunk out of it. I cried. It is just so sad to lose young people like this. this will make the 6th kid that has passed away since Kayla has been in high school. All from car accidents. It really scares me each time she gets behind the wheel. My heart breaks for this family. I am beginning to think that small area of road is haunted or bad luck or something. Over the last 5 years 2 people have been shot and killed, a grandmother was struck by a car and killed, this young boy and then one of our politicians for the county lived in a house right there and died in an airplane crash.
anyway....
Shawn may not try out for baseball after all. Why you ask? Because he would have to cut his hair. that.....is just not acceptable. lol. He is going to ask the coach again on thursday how short it has to go and if it is above his ears I think he is bailing on tryouts. Which makes me sad because he is good at baseball...but he doesn't like his hair short. SOOOOO....if no baseball tryouts in the future well then he might consider track. The head football coach keeps telling him that he is conditioning him for track because he wants Shawn to be in track in the spring. Guess we will see.

My weekend

The Canvas Scrapbook class I took with Debby Schuh was fantastic. I can't believe we whipped through this album in just 3 hours. I can't wait to start taking pictures and filling it up. I met Judy that I have talked to on the internet and it surprised me that someone knew me there that had only met me once at CKU Atlanta several years ago. The store was very, very cute and lots of new stuff. I spent WAY to much money and now wish I wouldn't have spent any since I did the bills last night :(
Yeah the money has me worried the next few weeks. I hate being short on money.
the evening turned out to be a disaster. I thought Kayla was missing. I couldn't find her...she wasn't where she was suppose to be. 2 hours later and many frantic phone calls and she comes home. We have a huge argument. I really don't think she will be living here to much longer. I know she wants a taste of freedom but I just wish I could get her to see that it really isn't all it's cut out to be. Needless to say I look like a puffer fish this morning from all the crying and the headache last night.
Today I MUST finish a quilt I have started. I have no option here....lol. Christmas is coming and I have to put my tree up which will hide my sewing machine. So I wonder if I will get the umph to get up off this computer today and work on the quilt?
Submitted a few more scrapbook pages again last night. Wish me luck. Contacted a few manufacturers but no luck on that end. want give up though.

Scrapbooking...

I absolutely LOVE it! Love it love it. So much fun and a wonderful way to get that creativity going. This one I made for a dear friend of mine for Christmas. The pictures isn't all that great and you can't see all the sparkles on the letters but I know she will love it. I used Urban Lily and some Prima flowers.

This is another layout that I made for a friend for Christmas. This is using Urban Lily and Prima Flowers. I also took the clear sheet out of my Tim Holtz mask that I bought...and used it for the big black swirl. I needed a swirl and that worked...lol

I love this picture of my daughter holding my cross necklace. Loving me some flowers this week I guess. I made this one for this weeks Sketch #82 for Nutsaboutsketchs.com. Head on over and see what everyone else did with the sketch.

And finally....this was my design for last months design for the challenge at Gutter Girlz. I was a little late getting it up..sorry. I used an old dress pattern in the background and this one measures 6x12.
I need to upload my latest painting for you....It sold yesterday :)
The boys are heading out to go hunting so I am home and getting some crafting done. Tomorrow I am heading out to a scrapbook story and taking a class. I haven't done that in a very long time.
Head on over to UrbanSwank.blogspot.com and see the new designers. It was an awesome opportunity and I think the designers that Becky put in place will be great. I'm back to the drawing board and hitting the submissions again. I am not one to give up so we will see what else I can get myself into...lol.
Have a great evening blog land. I'm off to be creative for the night.

Happy Birthday to me

Hard to believe...38 (gasp) years ago my mom went walking into the ER telling them I was on the way when she still had well over a month to go. But there I was....feet first...into this world like I still do today...just jumping right on in.

Today was a wonderful day. From my family to my friends at work to all the friends I have made on facebook and school friends from many years ago. Each one made this day so very special for me. I hate for the day to end.

I will post pictures this weekend of the beautiful flowers I got from my husband and my friend Emily...oh and the painting I did last night that sold today :)

Creativity

It is oozing right now. I am loving it. But gosh....I can't do anything about it when I am sitting here at work. I haven't had this much inspiration in a long time....to just pull out all my scrappy stuff and just scrap away! Not sure what sparked it but I am so glad it did.

So I as I sit here at work I am sketching and jotting down what I want to make.

I have decided I need to win the lottery. Simply because I have ran across items lately that I WANT to try so bad but just can't buy them right now. A few examples... ALL the new Prima stuff. goodness gracious alive it is to die for. And the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I must have this stuff! Like ALL shades! LOL. A few more items on my list that I really, really want...the Tim Holtz craft mat....chipboard...I need some major chipboard....paper..gotta have more paper...hmmmm wonder if I make a Christmas list if anyone in my house with bother to get anything like the above??? I doubt it. Guess I just need to save my beans...lol!

Today is a wet and yucky day. The perfect day to be home and scrapping I tell ya.

My birthday is just a few days away. Not sure if I am excited about it yet or not. Getting to close to 40 now to be to excited...lol. My dear friend Rachel sent me two CD's I have been wanting...Zac Brown's band and the New Moon Soundtrack! Love them!

We got our TWILIGHT tickets yesterday! Woot woot!! Double excited about that. We are having a girls night out on the 20th and seeing the movie.

Also signed up for an awesome Canvas Scrapbook class this weekend in Carrollton. It's at Sweet Memories. You can see her store at SweetMemories.typepad.com I wish it wasn't so far away for me (45 mintues) or I would make this a regular place to hang out. But it is just to far away. But I am making this exception because the class looks fun and I would love to meet my online friend Judy who is driving from Alabama to take the class.

Okay....I've typed a book today. Off to sketch a few more things and figure out what I want to create when I get home

Here ya go

My project from today! It turned out really good I think. Nothing like the original but I guess you could say it is a Becky Original :)

another lonely weekend

NOT :)
The boys just left for the weekend and I have a FUN filled day planned. Once I get out and hit the grocery stores...I have to pick my art work up at the gallery. It's been hanging there for a month so I finally get to go claim it. If I'm lucky...it sold. If not...just another picture to add back to my collection. I need to get busy working on the one I want to enter in the Spring. It's going to be a large waterwheel picture.

After I pick my artwork up I will be heading to austell to take a painting class with Ann Cockerill. I can't wait and am very excited. I hope I can learn a few things.

then I will head to my parents house for a little bit to show off what I did...lol.

Then back home to get some projects finished. I have one more quilt to finish before Thanksgiving and one more blanket. Then I am done with the sewing. Have a few layouts to finish and maybe a few layouts to submit. We will see. Haven't had any bites on the submitting homefront but that just comes with the territory I guess.

Alrighty...off to get started with my day. I will post my painting when I get home

Hump day

Finally. I have been so exhausted all week. Not sure if it is the time change or what but just as I am sitting here typing at 7:30, I am about to fall over asleep. I hate that. I hope I am not getting sick.

Not much has been going on this week so far. just getting home...facebooking...scrapping...reading up on messageboards and then hitting the bed. the boys are going camping this weekend so I will have lots of time again to play with all the things I need to get done. Such as Genealogy, quilt, blankets, scrapbook pages, clean my house and the normal errands. All in just 2 days. Wow tired already...lol!

Lots to post today

Hope everyone had a safe and happy halloween. We went to a friend of mines and trick or treated with her daughter. It was a lot of fun even though we were wet from head to toe because of the rain.

Then today we got up early and headed out to the North Georgia Military academy where our older scouts participated in obstacle courses, one rope bridges over a VERT cold Etowah river and yes they all got wet. And then they did a land mine obstacle course where they got REALLY muddy! Yep they were a sight but had a great time. They get to go up next weekend and be the leaders in the same thing for the younger scouts. I even went out with them climbing through the mountain and such....it was tough but I did it.

I found out this morning that I made the Scrap-Tastic.com Design Team along with two other ladies. I am really stoked and excited to get started.

Lots to do this week. I can't believe it is now November and my birthday just around the corner. Not sure how I am feeling about turning 38. Yep not to sure about that.
