My that was a fast weekend.
We had our family and friend day at the lake saturday. It was great. Good times. Great family and fantastic food. Lots of pictures too ;)
Got my displays built for my artwork for the arts and crafts fair in 2 weeks. Glad to check that off my list.
Added two more quilts to the already growing list of things to do. Guess I will have to push mine off until a later date.
Sorry such a short update. Lots left to do in this growingly short day

sorry not to post earlier
sorry its been all week since I have posted. It has been a very busy week.
I wasn't able to get to work on Monday. All the roads out from my house were closed due to flooding. My parents were flooded in pretty bad.
Tuesday I was able to get into work. Two of the roads opened up so I could get through. I didn't really get to see all the damage until my ride home that afternoon. It was so much. Scary. Devestating.
It took Billy 3 hours to get to work Tuesday morning and about that many to get home. His main route to work and home finally opened up yesterday and he said he was amazed at the water/mud line in the trees...had to be 15 feet or more.
I thank God that we did not have damage...no leaks...no water in the house...but I am sad for all the people who lost everything. A coworker lost her entire house and two cars. She just had a baby 3 weeks ago. It is just so sad.
We still have several roads closed and it has been 5 days now. The schools have been out all week and our county is still under a boil water advisory until hopefully this afternoon. Our county along with about 7 others has been declared disaster areas.
And to add insult to injury...more rain is expected to come in this afternoon/evening and last through tomorrow. We are already under a flash flood watch and they expect up to 3 inches. The water logged ground just can't hold anymore.
Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. Please keep the families in your prayers that still have a long road to go.
on a lighter note...Shawn is getting ready to turn 16 soon...just 7 more days. I can't believe how old my son has gotten. Crazy. I got confirmation that Emily and I will have a booth at the Fall Fest Arts & Crafts fair on Oct 10th. I "think" I have enough drawings and such. Lets hope. And lets hope we sale some things. A few DT reveals I am anxious awaiting are being announced soon. I really want to get back into a kit club DT. We will see I guess. I've been working on a few quilts. As soon as I am done with them I am going to start my own! Just for me! Started a new painting and drawing last night. I just needed to get some nervous energy out I guess. Been nursing a headache for the last few days. Maybe stress...who knows.
Anyway...have a great weekend.

Flood 2009

Well we have been getting rain for the last week. Didn't really think much of it. Until.....It started raining heavily friday night....all day saturday....all day saturday night....and then all day yesterday. So this is what my parents have woken up to...what we woke up to and what is going on around the area. It's a mess here. Please pray that those that have lost their homes will be okay and safe...that the rain stops soon. It's still raining as we speak. It has to stop. We have had over a foot of rain just in 24 hours. My husband is out on the roads and I hope he can find a way home. With over 90 roads closed in Paulding County alone...this is a disaster area.

Weekend came to an end
Can't believe the weekend is over already.
Went to the local arts & crafts festival on saturday. Wish I had tons of money to buy all the things I wanted. But it did make up my mind that I will have a booth next year. I am set on it! I can't wait.
I drew a few pictures this weekend. Two of which are from Cades Cove but then I drew one of old downtown Hiram of the Shipp store which was owned by JW Shipp in my husbands genealogy line. He wants to keep that one ;)
And then I painted this tulip painting. It is sold. I actually did really well this weekend and sold the painting, 3 drawings and one photography print. Now that is a great weekend ;)
I finished a quilt too so I was pretty busy but then I like it that way.
This week is a 4 day week for me so Friday I will spend the day doing some scrapbook pages and of course I am sure I will find time for a few more pictures.

last day...
of my 4 day weekend. It's been fun and very creative. Here are a few drawings I did over the weekend. All of them are currently for sale and will be matted and framed in black. I am also working on making a website to house all my artwork. I can't wait to get it finished. I wish I had a few more days at home to play with it. Just by myself. But....I've gotta go back to work. Gotta make some money to support my habits...oh and put food on the table...lol.
I'm having a blog give away for Labor Day! It's a little home made something by me :) a while back my friend Coffee - Latte_Grande - held a PIF on her blog. I ended up with this cutest mushroom that I use as a pin cushion at my sewing machine. The only catch....I had to make something and PIF...so that is what I am doing today. I made this a while back and just haven't had the chance to PIF (Pay It Forward)...so...today is the day. All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog and tell me what you enjoy most about the fall....and then pay something forward latter on...you have a year to do it :) Sounds like a good deal don'tcha think. You have until Wednesday of this week...September 9th
Have a happy rest of the holiday and hugs to all.
Edited to add: my website is done. Check it out :) Art from the Heart

4 day weekend
There is nothing better than a 4 day weekend...well maybe a 7 day weekend...but...
Today starts my mini vacation. I was up at 5 this morning as always...but I got a painting done and some genealogy so it was very productive. I had my CT scan done today for my sinuses. Now to wait a week to see what the results will be. I am hoping it is something easy and not a sinus surgery to fix it. I don't want that. But we will see what they say. Wish they could tell you that day but oh well.
Going to meet my hubby for lunch today. We don't get many "date" days so we grab them when we can. He is getting off work early so we can hook up :)
Got a slammed pack weekend though. Shawn wants to go spend the night with a friend Saturday night and so is Kayla so maybe hubby and I can go out for supper too! woohooo. Got to tend to my sisters cats while she is out of town. Lots of yard work to do. Quilts to make. Scrapbook pages to work on. and then the race on Sunday night. I SOOOOO wish I was there. What an awesome night....cool chill in the air....fast cars...loud engines...NASCAR at Atlanta Motor Speedway at night! Man wouldn't that be cool. BUT...I can't seem to luck up and get free tickets so oh well. Will just have to watch it from the comforts of our home with hamburgers and cheese-salsa dip. :)
Weight Watchers..haven't updated in a while. 2 weeks ago I hit the 8lb mark which was my 5% goal. I was very happy about that. Next goal is 10% which is 16lbs. Will see if I can do it. I meant to purchase the Wii trainer but I haven't done that yet. Maybe this weekend I can go shopping for Shawns birthday present and can pick that up for me too ;)
alrighty....off to create some more.
Submitted to a few mags last night and a few more DT calls. Crossing fingers. I am ready to return to the scrappy work and kick some layout butt...lol.

Some more goodies
This week I have been stressed at work so I have been taking it out on stuff at the house...as in drawing and quilting...lol. I started working on my friends quilt. Got almost all the squares sewn this afternoon. And I have drawn these two pictures over the last few days. It has been very theraputic that is for sure.
Got the results from the Prism Guest DT contest...no go here...but that is okay. Maybe next time right :)
Scrapped a lot the last two days also. Love it love it. When the creative mood hits me it sure does make me smile.
Got my CT scan scheduled for Friday. Not looking forward to that at all but I guess it needs to be done.
ok. off to eat some grilled cheese and curl up on the couch for a while
