Project 52 - Book 1

Man.....let me just say that taking on this Project may be a little harder than I thought it would be. I finally finished my first book last night.
Dean Koontz - By the Light of the Moon

Now....I usually have enjoyed most of the Dean Koontz books I have read. Last year I believe I read two or three and they were pretty darn good. I don't know if I just have way to many other things going on in my world right now or if I just didn't like this book. I don't know...but it was a pain-staking 4 weeks to finish this book. And for those that know me....that is a long time. I usually turn a book out in a few days. But not this one. Now I have heard from others they loved it. I just couldn't get into it. I know it took a week just to get past chapter 6. A quick review...the main characters are Shep, an autistic boy, his brother Dylan O'Conner and a lady they met by chance, Jilly. The entire book is about their travels over what appears to be about a 2 day span while they run from "bad people" and try to understand what all is happening to them. Modern day super heros. There was one chapter that had me about in tears that dealt with Shep and Dylan. I felt so bad for them when they found out the truth...and of course you know I can't give you more details because it will just ruin the book.

If you like science fiction kinda books...you might like this one just fine. For me...just not what I was hoping and a huge difference from what I usually read.

Now on to Book 2. I have some catching up to do if I plan on reading 52 books this year. Bring on Nicholas Sparks - Message in a Bottle. Another book totally different than what I usually read so lets hope I can get into the romance kinda stuff. Stay tuned.....

wow 52 books this year.. that is a woman on a mission (do children's books count? lol) but I bet you'll do just fine. I'm more of a fantasy reader.. I'm slowly, ver slowly working my way through the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series. I may get those finished by the end of the year. ;)
