Happy Sunday evening

Why oh why do they start a race at 8 PM EST. I never can make it thru the race. I'm already sleepy...lol.

Spent today doing this and that. And went to my dads. Here are a few pics from the day. i can't believe that Shadow is almost 6 months old. He has grown soooo much. And here is another sneak peak at my Halloween Swap items. I hope everyone likes them.

Well the hurricane is about to hit Louisana. I so hate that for them because recovery from Katrina has been so slow. this is just not a good thing. And then Hannah is bugging me. If it becomes a hurricane...it is headed for the GA coast which means we will get some of this storm pretty bad. Even though I am on the West side of GA right now it looks like a straight shot in the coastal area and heading NW. The last time...I think it was Ivan...that one crossed our area...there were trees down everywhere...major flooding...nothing like what LA is going to get in the morning but for us it was not an easy ride at all. I just hate these storms...for everyone involved.

Not much else going on this weekend. Just hanging out with my family. I think I may tackle the job of redoing my bathroom tomorrow. Well since I tore off some of the border and it looks trashy now...lol...I guess I can start getting it ready for some paint next weekend. It will be a huge undertaking with some chair rail molding, etc but I think it will look great when I am done!

What a crazy week

It has just been nutty and one that I was about in tears each and every day. I hate that. Maybe it is PMS? My poor body is so out of whack since this surgery that lord knows what all is going on with it. All I know is I am so thankful that this week is over.

We got our furniture put together. FINALLY. Shawn and I finished that on Thursday. He also went and took his Eagle Project paperwork for approval on Thursday and they APPROVED IT!!! I am so proud of him. Now he has to get busy getting the project going.

We ended up having to put a $100 battery in the car. The car died while at the scout meeting. And Friday it died on me when I went out for lunch to de-stress. I had to be jumped off 3 times Friday. I finally got home and just had a meltdown. Then Saturday we took it in for a new muffler and tires. $550 later I only have new tires. I have to go back Monday for the muffler and lord knows how much that will be. Today I had to sit thru 6 hours of Continuing Education classes for my state license. Not a fun day that is for sure.

But I did come home and scrap about 12 pages - 8x8 pages - for an album that I am doing at work. I also am trying to get my ideas going for the swap that TallyHo is having. I can't wait and hope I can come up with something fun. I also want to start a baby album for my new little great nephew. He will be here in November and I am soooo excited. I just love little babies and being that I can't have anymore...well....I am just so happy for her and this new little life.

Back to school we go tomorrow. Week 2. So far so good. I know it is only week two but still. I am glad the kids are liking their classes. I think Kayla hates one of hers but that is okay. And Friday starts football season. Here we go folks. Friday night $50 football games (entry ticket and food) and then competitions with the band in October.

Oh and I am so excited that I signed up for the Tally Rally in SC in October. I am only going for Friday night and Saturday morning but I can't wait to meet some of the Tally girls!

Just checking in...

to let you know I am still here. It's just been an overly stressful week. We closed on our refinancing Monday night. then it was us trying to run around and help Shawn get his Eagle papers signed and on top of that the first day of school. Tuesday....well it just sucked at work. Still had to do running around after work. Today...the stress continued. BUT we go this evening to pick up my new breakfast room furniture. YEAH. Had to run by the car shop. My car is falling apart...lol. Will have to take it back Saturday.

I've gotten some scrapping done. These were some challenges at TallyScrapper. The first one we had to burn our layout so I burnt the blue paper edges. The second one was much harder. We had to use monochromatic and also use latex! So I used a balloon...lol

And finally the last two was done for Serendipitykits.com with the July kit. It was full of Jenni Bowlin and was so pretty to use. One is Kayla's senior picture and the other is my mail lady in our yard...lol!

Tomorrow will be yet another crazy day. I have to work out at lunch and then we have to run Shawn to the Scout Council in the evening and pray and hope they sign off on his Eagle Project!

Wow. Seriously.

I can't believe it. In less than 3 days my kids start school. Kayla will walk thru the doors of EPH as a Senior Class of '09! I tear up just thinking about it. I just can't believe it. 20 years ago....I was beginning to walk thru the doors of PCHS class of '89! And now to watch my daughter do the same. It's just not something I can comprehend right now. And even more than that....watching my baby....my last child....walk thru those same doors at EPH as a Freshman. We picked up his schedule today. Grown up classes. Grown up friends. Hrown up himself. Taller than me. Becoming his own person. Gosh. I am not ready for this. Seriously. I'm not. This I can tell already is going to be a year of tears, joy, excitement and lord knows what else. Pray for me okay...cause I am going to need it. More for my mental state I think cause there is going to be some crying this year for sure. Gosh....why do they grow up so fast.

On a brighter note...thank you to everyone who has stopped by my Etsy store...who are now wearing a Becky necklace or bracelet and just to everyone that supported me kicking this up and giving it a try. Thank you thank you.

I did it....

I opened my Etsy store. I only put up what I have so far so I really need to get busy making some more. Hope you will visit it and let me know what you think.
Art from the Heart

taking that big step

everyone that knows me knows I love art. I have since I was 2. I used to sit in my grandmothers floor with the sunday funny papers and draw all the cartoons. When I got older I would sit behind the counter at my Nanny Waters' store and draw even bigger cartoons and hang all over the store. By the time I was in high school I was alllll about art shows and contests. My goal in life then was to become a famous artist. Something happened after I graduated...oh wait...that would of been my daughter ;) and I never kept that dream of mine.

So I found scrapbooking. Man what a great creative outlet that was. I've now been scrapping for over 14 years.

The other day I got to thinking about my old pictures. I only have them in slide form but what if I took them to the printers and had 8.10's made? I wonder if anyone would buy them? Are they good enough? Oh my.....what scares me the most is that I am actually thinking about doing this. HELP. How do I do this right so that I make them perfect? The right paper? The right size? Anyone...can you help before I chicken out of this new venture

I'm scrapping again!

Woohooo. And it feels great. Here is the page I made saturday night for a challenge at Tally! And I am working on a 2 page layout for IAmAScrapaholic with the August kit. It's been a little harder cause I have screwed up SO MANY times it isn't even funny. But the paint is drying and I hope it will be the last thing I gotta do for it...lol.

I even made a page to submit to MM for a call. Crossing fingers! Which makes me think...hmmm...the Hambly DT call must be over and done...oh well...nothing special in my in box so I guess it wasn't meant to be. Oh well. But I might still go check the blog and see if they have made calls yet. That would be such a fun place to work with. I'm still trying for the Manufacturer DT gig but it just hasn't happened.

Kayla started all day band camp today. And got in trouble cause her boyfriend was there. oh well. She is an adult now right. She can deal with it. tomorrow is our Parent/Senior band pictures. Ok I am OVER the senior pictures. I bought all those casuals and now I need to buy at least 2 formal pictures and now BAND pictures. Geesh...already this year is getting mighty expensive and school hasn't even started yet. What's up with that!
