Hope everyone had a wonderful, fun halloween. Our door at work won FIRST PLACE!! WOOHOO. I have been trying for 6 years and always came in second...finally a first place win...yippeee! We were Gilligan's Island and I was Mary Ann. Will get pictures as soon as I upload all 133 of them..giggle.

I did get this layout finished tonight for the Scrap-tastic.com Pageant contest. I made it to the final 10!! I am excited. There are some wayyyy talented ladies in this pageant! This is from our Breast Cancer walk we did this past saturday. What a day. Very emotional and amazing.
Now I am just sitting here waiting on the kids to come home from trick or treating. They haven't been in years so was really excited to get the chance to go!
Can you believe tomorrow is November. I can not. Just 12 more days till my birthday :D

Fun Challenges

Come join us at I AM A Scrapaholic

I AM A Scrapaholic's new Out From Behind the Camera Challenge Series is designed to help you scrap more about yourself. You may create an album all about you just for you; you may just want to add your layouts to your current albums, or a combination thereof. It’s entirely up to you. The most important thing is to get you into your albums, to celebrate you, and to leave an important legacy for your family. Remember the people you scrap about will also enjoy seeing layouts about you too! Week by week we will help you with themes, sketches, samples and ideas to help you along the way. You will earn RAKs and discounts along the way. But, most importantly you will have layouts about you. Each month will focus on a theme. Each Monday a new challenge will be posted. The challenge will include a topic [subject] and a sketch exclusive to I AM A Scrapaholic for you to use (if you choose), and samples by the Design Team. You can pick and choose the challenges you wish to complete. Each challenge you complete and upload to the gallery will earn you points. These points will accumulate and will earn you RAKs and discounts. See the Point System thread for details. You are not obliged to participate every week, and there is no competitive element here, we want to see everyone joining in as much as possible no matter what your scrapping level or schedule. Each week one of the DT members will choose a layout they love from the previous week to highlight. this person will receive an additional bonus point. A layout maybe chosen based on the overall design, the journaling, the photo, or for whatever reason the DT member chooses. We all have different tastes so it could be anyone and for any reason.

so far this week

The band did great saturday night. they placed 1st in their class and 3rd overall. Awesome job. It was cold and we got home about 2 in the morning. Tired!!! let me just say we were all tired!
Finished this layout for Scrap-tastic...challenge 4. At first I was about ready to call it quits...I just couldn't get the hang of what we were being challenged with but finally it came together. A little different for me...but its done. Hope you like it. But then I don't really like any pictures of me...giggle
And then I did the one of Kayla "So Hard" for a challenge at Tally scrapper. It was fun and kinda wild looking :)

Homecoming Day

today was homecoming at the High School. The band is playing before the game gets going and then will leave at 3rd quarter so they can get ready for the dance. Kayla borrowed a dress that is very pretty on her. I hope I can get a picture of her but it will be so late when she gets home. She was so sad today...a fella she likes...doesn't like her. I so wish she could find herself a boyfriend but that has always been the hardest thing for her to do. But it will happen. That is what I keep telling her..it will happen before you know it.
Had to take Shawn to the dr. today. He had a bicycle accident and has had bad headaches since. But she seems to think he will be fine and since he is not dizzy she doubts it was a concussion. That is good news.
Here's a layout I made today. I hope you enjoy it. It was fund to play with. I just love my Basic Grey and chipboard :)
Tomorrow is going to be a long day. Billy and Shawn have some Scout things to do while I hit the grocery store. then we head out for the second competition and are not estimated to get home until about 1 am sunday morning....geeshhh...I just can't stay up that late anymore...lol!

I know...I'm behind again

but we have been so busy. Saturday was the first band competition of the year. They had all Superior ratings placed over all in : 2nd place Drum Major, 3rd Place Color Guard and Percussion and they won over all 2nd place band. They rocked. I personally thought they deserved grand champion but then again...it's my daughters band :D

So I have made it to round 3 at Scrap-tastic and these challenges just get tougher and tougher. I love it though...it gets me thinking!

OH and great news....I made the design team at IAMaScrapaholic.com. Come check us out.

It's me again...

Hope all is well. It's been a up and down week since Friday. More issues here with my stepson saturday and sunday. Can I just say...OVER IT!!

Finished my layout for Scrap-tastic's Beauty Contest. At first I was like OMG I can't do this challenge...then I thought on it some and the whole thing fell in place. Here ya go. Hope you like it. I love the Grunge look. Also have some goodie news....my Leigh page will be heading out to Scrapbooking and Beyond this weekend :) I am so excited that they picked this one. It was for a challenge at TallyScrapper but the whole page means so much to me and to my dear friend Kim.
I've got an IEP meeting at Kayla's school today so hoping it goes quickly and also good :)

PS.....

Challenge #3 at TallyScrapper.com

School...finally

finally...something going our way. shawn received yet another detention from you know who! We talked to him last night and feel from deep in our gut that he is really telling us the truth. So we told him to make an appointment with the assistant principal...talk with her...and go from there.
She will not reverse his detention...which is fine..I am okay with that..BUT the great news....they moved him from that class....and her homeroom! So he is starting off with a new teacher....new homeroom teacher....and all is great :) He told me today that he went to his new math class and actually LEARNED something in there!

Please....just a prayer that this is what we needed and it will all be okay from here on out.

Kayla has a football game tonight. I think we will order pizza and just sit at home. It's icky weather and I just really don't want to get out in it ya know. Maybe I can scrap tonight :D

Sharing

Sharing some layouts I made for the challenges at TallyScrapper.com...again...this place rocks! It is so totally addicting. And the ladies there are sooooo nice.
Well shoot...I can only get one to upload. Well this one was made for the Week 2 Survivor Challenge. We had to use paint and sew on the page. I had so much fun just doing nothing but painting the background. This is Leigh. My dear friend I lost to Cancer in April. It felt great to get this layout done and I will make a copy to send to her family for their album.
life- school....sucks. Still more difficulty with the middle school...grrrrr. I don't think anything would make me more excited than Shawn going to the high school. I wish it was NOW. Report cards go out next week. I am nervous about Kayla's but trying not to be.
Books- just finished a great read that is a high recommendation for all parents - Scream Free Parenting - it ROCKS and I am trying so hard to incorporate it into my every day life
Weight - sucks. Had a looooonnnng talk with my Jenny Craig consultant today. something has got to give

Have you ever wondered

why you keep a blog? I do all the time. I am so horrible about updating this one but at the same time it is fun to have a place to just jot down happenings....but again..I don't update often. Sorry

In my world...what's happening lately. Let's see.
Charlee, Rachel and Mikki told me about a new site ...TallyScrapper.com OMG this place is fun. I love it. So I have been there a lot sharing layouts...working on a few challenges and giving out Tallypoints :D Entered a contest at Scrap-tastic.com and just finished challenge 1. I will post it later..I promise..giggle :) I got my copy of the Oct/Nov Somerset memories and they have my layout in there titled "Home". I was super excited to see it in there. I love this magazine. So many different styles are represented.

It's been kinda crazy around here. I finished up my fundraising for the Breast Cancer Walk. We have raised over $1200 so far! now I am switching gears and working on the Vision Walk. I have my first 3 mile walk this weekend for the Memory Walk. I am a little nervous about it...I am thinking I might have a stress fracture in my foot so walking is not going to be a good thing but I will suck it up and do it anyway. This walk is for my Nanny Thomas so I need to do it. Weight....omg...let me just tell you I hate this. I have now gained even more weight then I had last year and I have been doing Jenny Craig faithfully! I don't know what else to do. It's really getting frustrating for me and I am to just give up!

Scrapped a bit last night. Felt great.

Now off to work we go
